Celebrating 5 years of Condé Nast Traveler India

In the heart of Jaipur, dwells a dream born from the creative instincts of brothers Paritosh and Priyank Mehta. Driven by their fascination for local crafts and culture, they embarked on an evolutionary journey and interpreted one-of-a-kind trunks to treasure collectibles, passions, tradition, memories.

Trunks Company was a start-up luxury brand that competed with renowned luxury labels such as Louis Vuitton and Goyard to name a few. These iconic brands defined the space and invested heavily in traditional media. As a result, they were better known to market influencers and consumers. After multiple meetings with Paritosh and Priyank, the strategy devised encompassed creative communication and strategic partnerships that would engage and influence key decision-makers in India and internationally.

In the year 2015, Condé Nast Traveler India celebrated its 5th Anniversary and to mark this milestone, the magazine presented its special initiative– ‘Journeys of a Lifetime’.

The trunk or chest and its connection with travel date back to the 19th and early 20th century, when travel by sea and road was opening up. Keeping in mind this connection between trunks and travel, we pursued a partnership with the team at Condé Nast Traveller India that delivered an art installation celebrating travel, luxury and 5 years of the publication.

The Anniversary Special issue covers had epic journeys of five personalities including one winner. A celebratory event was held at The St. Regis, Mumbai, where these covers were unveiled and all the five journeys were showcased through exclusive video journals wherein each traveller gave a first-hand narration of their experience.

Among the journeys undertaken, four were by renowned personalities from different walks of life including Bollywood director Homi Adajania, author Fatima Bhutto, writer Chandrahas Choudhury and Chef Rahul Akerkar.

In an exclusive with Condé Nast Traveller India, the enigmatic Aishwarya Rai Bachchan styled by renowned designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee graced the cover of the magazine’s 5th Anniversary Special issue, in a luxurious Indian vintage ensemble.

Trunks Company Jaipur created an installation with a ‘travel in style’ theme that was on display for the gathering of travel aficionados, fashion designers, models, chefs, business leaders and industry influencers.
